The Artist - Cliff Weaver BEM

Cliff is a totally self taught artist who was born in Gosport Hampshire and still lives there to this day. As a boy of 15 he joined the Royal Navy serving on Carriers, Destroyers, Frigates and Heavy Repair Ships. He saw active service in Cyprus, Suez, Aden and the Indonesian Confrontation and is the holder of medals for those campaigns.
After leaving the Royal Navy, Cliff joined the Degaussing Department Ministry of Defence and worked there until his retirement. During his time with the M.O.D. he was awarded the British Empire Medal for services to the Department.
From a very early age his talent for drawing was obvious, he now specialises in painting military scenes and is an acknowledged expert in uniforms, arms, and armour.
His paintings have been widely exhibited in England and several have been published.
He has completed two painting to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of the the Normandy Landings, one depicting British and Canadian troops and the other American troops.
Both pictures have now been published.
